Gregoire, one of my students...

Yesterday, I was at the supermarket and suddenly I hear "Caroyl"...but the guttural french pronunciation..and loud and surprised and enthusiastic. ( Carol in French has that R in the middle so the name is broken up so you get a good R grind and the ol cowers after the R. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drFpHkdPohw )

I turned and it was one of my students with his carbon copy little brother and his carbon copy father. I smile to think of it as some of the kids are so excited about the class and me...it's incredible...so much love...I'm not used to it. The kids are about 11 or so.

Here are 3 of his photos from assignments...
1) 2 hands
2) dresser top
3)discovering nature
4) a blur that we took in the school hallways. I take a small group and they shoot things I set up.
I think pretty good for an 11 year old with a phone. I loved # 3...and I really like the paw shot too but it is OOF.
5) blue and orange ( seems like everyone photographed an orange)
We met up again at the self check out machines and there was a bit of line..I told him that they all look so much alike...the little brother is s hellion. His father looked a little embarrassed with all of the hoop la.A self check out machine became open and he yelled "Caroyl! Caroyl...la! ( la in french is there). "Gregoire is a bit over anxious...but its better than being a slacker. He has sent me all of the assignments...some students have sent me zero.. There are 60 kids, 2 classes. I see them every other week or so. I speak a mix of French and English. They are exhausting and it is really hard to speak french when your brain is exhausted.
