Funeral to come...
My friends funeral is on Wednesday…it’s funny because the last time, really the only time I was in that church ( in La Colle) I was with him. We found each other , sitting in the back, at the sad
funeral of my landlord, Monsieur Lambert. I was so happy to see Noulin ( as everyone called him) and we clung together like 2 kids on a caper. His phone went off in the middle of the service and everyone turned around and looked at us.
He had a Black and Decker phone , a flip top, he was so proud of that phone.
But here I am going to his funeral on Wednesday. I am not so sure he was a practicing Catholic as I know he was more of a pagan. I think he was more like me…a non believer in organized religion but very much a believer in the soul and spirit of the world and of people. …but, I am sure he will just get carried away by the stream of social acceptability…what one would expect
from him, what his family wants.
He was a goof friend. He was like a Father to me. Covid really kept us apart and I lost about 2 years of our friendship.
There is a place in the river ( Le Loup) that he showed me. It was a place that he liked to fish and to swim. He lived in La Colle his whole life. At this part of the river is a pyramid. A rock in the shape of a pyramid that juts out of the water. The last time I saw him I told him that I would look for him there.
So Sad…
