Not being able to sleep last night I read for a long time.I am reading the series of historical fiction books on ancient Rome. I am on the 2nd to last book and I am to the early morning before Julius Caesar was murdered. The last 3 books covered all of Julius Caesars life and I feel like I know him well. I am dreading the murder by the silly jealous, wrong headed men that killed him. "The Kill Caesar Club".

It hit me that there is a plaque on the street in Rome that notes where the murder happened. It's an unassuming spot on a side walk across from a fenced off site that is off limits to the public. You can look into to it and it is an important site, but it is on hold as Italy is broke.

In fact, the whole of Pompey The Great's ( Pompey Magnus) theater and all of the structures that accompany it ...(a forum of a sort with governmental buildings) is mostly under ground. ...In my life time I do not think they will unearth it as it is under a major tourist area, Campo dei Fiori which features is a big popular street market and many restaurants. In fact, you can go into a restaurant and follow the signs down stairs and you can see massive stones , part of the structure.

Anyway, it is connected to to this open area across from the plaque.

There are so many things to see in Rome...it is such an amazing place. I wish I could cut out for 4 or 5 days to take a quick trip.
